When Comic-Con recesses for the evening, San Diego damn-well better have some good and geeky goings-on to entertain the hoards of costume-wearing, light-saber-packing, Doctor Who-worshiping masses. Not to worry, average San Diegan, these after-hours events should be enough to keep the Klingons from rioting:

3 Nights During the Con: The folks at Art Fag Recordings and Impose magazine are teaming up for three nights of Comic-Con-flavored music at Soda Bar (3615 El Cajon Blvd. in City Heights) starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, and running through Saturday, July 23. Thursday will kick off with Heavy Hawaii, a beach-band known for their darker shade of surf-rock. Friday features a performance by Tearist and a freestyle act by Nite Jewel and The Samps. Saturday’s act is Brooklyn indie-rockers High Places. With more than 20 different bands and DJs, the threeday extravaganza may even reach beyond the hardcore geekazoids and into the hipster set. Founders Mario Orduno (Art Fag) and Derek Evers (Impose) say they plan to make the festival an annual event in the style of the unofficial day parties at South by Southwest that often attract thousands of festival-goers. $7-$10. imposemagazine.com/bytes/3nites-during-the-con

Threadless party: It’s hard not to like Threadless, the T-shirt company that operates by printing clever designs that garner the most public votes. Last year, we stopped by Threadless’ Comic-Con Welcome party and had a blast checking out its “Comics-On Tees” series, meeting artists and taking advantage of a sweet spread of food and booze. This year, the party’s happening from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Terrace Under the Stars at Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Ave., Downtown). Your $10 to $20 donation will benefit Comic Book Legal Defense. threadless.com

w00tstock 3.0: This annual Comic-Con geek-vaudeville event makes some mighty lofty claims. “This is the dawning of the Age of Geekdom,” reads the event website, “and its voices will ring true at w00tstock.” At 7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Balboa Theater (868 Fourth Ave., Downtown), hosts Adam Savage from Mythbusters, author and blogger Wil Wheaton and music / comedy pair Paul and Storm will be joined by special guests for a night of music, readings, comedy and short films focusing on the geek lifestyle. Tickets are $44.45 and selling quickly. w00tstock.net

Marked Men Party: Only the most serious swashbucklers are invited to join host Brandon Hillock as Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew of Pirates of the Caribbean reenactors. Bring your eye-patch and shoulder-mounted parrot to the San Diego Maritime Museum at 8 p.m. Friday, July 22, for music, drinks, mermaids and plenty of pirate’s booty. $50. markedmenparty.com
